What to wear today? A drop waist dress

I was recently in NYC for a friend's wedding and of course I went shopping, maybe I did a lot of shopping even. While trying on all of what the wonderful world of NYC had to offer I tried on a drop waist dress. It wasn't quite perfect but 2 weeks later and I am craving the shape. I know that it is something I need in my closet sooner rather than later. The hunt is on.

Bucket bags. The new 'it' shape

I remember bucket bags in the 80s. They remind me most of my Aunt, who always seemed to be on the cutting edge of everything fashionable. Last year I got the itch for those bucket bags from the 80s and got a vintage Dooney & Bourke, like this one here. At the time I didn't think there was any way to work one into my work look, but since then I have seen them spring up everywhere.

Bucket bags may be the new it bag shape for the workplace. If nothing else it is nice to carry a bag with less sharp edges than any other bag in my closet.

Spring cleaning for your work wardrobe

It seems that Spring has shown its face across most parts of the Northern Hemisphere in the last week and a half. This past weekend in London it was a balmy 19C (66F) and with that I packed up, prematurely as the weather this week has proved, most of my heavier coats and wool sweaters. I am just ready for Spring! Nevertheless though, Spring is on its way and I am lusting over warmer weather options. I am looking for lighter materials, open knits and cleaner looks. Thanks to Zara and Need Supply for everything here.

Taking your lunch to work

Continuing on the theme of being healthy, taking your lunch to work is a great option and one that I am all for. Following up on my post from Monday, you can also find great lunch and snack totes for those of us on the go via A Fine Choice, here, specifically.

My problem is that I want to take my lunch to work but I almost always buy my lunch. For those of you that find yourself in the same situation, but who may want to just look like you are bringing your lunch, these are my new obsessions.

This isn't something I would be carrying to a work meeting or if I were out with a client but I want to use this all the time I am not in those situations particularly on the weekends. I just love this bag so much that I couldn't NOT share it.  Buen provecho.
